We are situated in North Dordogne, the closest town being Brantôme ‘the Venice of France’ only 6 miles away.
Brantôme is an ancient town with caves, an abbey, winding streets, boutique shops and wonderful restaurants. All surrounded by the river Drone where you can kayak around the town or simply enjoy the view with a glass of wine in one of the many restaurants. See our pictures for a real-life view of the kayaking experience!
Every Friday a popular outdoor market is held in Brantôme, full of local produce. Plus every Friday night from 9pm in summer season, a jousting competition on water is held for the entertainment of the crowd!
We have the very popular Brantôme Police Horses within 5km of our glampsite, an English run charity set up to provide retired police horses a loving retirement home. It’s the number one visit on trip advisor and highly recommended! See their website here.
Saint Jean de Cole is also less than 10km away, one of les plus beaux villages de France, well worth a visit to see the historical centre and beautiful River Cole.
The Dordogne region is the second largest in France, with local major attractions of Bordeaux, Sarlat-de-Canade, Perigueux, Angouleme, Bergerac all within easy reach. Click here for more information.
The beaches are also within easy reach, a 2 hour drive will get you on the coast for a different experience.
Belair le camping in the Dordogne is also a great halfway point if you are travelling onwards throughout France, either to the South of France, or onwards to Spain. Come and stay with us and relax for a while until your journey begins again.
If French gastronomy is your thing (and wine) then our local village of Champagnac de Belair has its own Michellin starred restaurant Le Moulin du Roc. Visit their website for a look at their menu.
